Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and treat yourself to a rejuvenating getaway at the serene Gut Pohnstorf. A 200-year-old gorgeous manor house nestled in the picturesque landscape of Mecklenburg Vorpommern awaits us to gather for 4 days and 3 nights of deep relaxation and inner exploration.

Delve deep into your yoga practice and replenish your body, mind, and spirit. Under the guidance of two seasoned yoga instructors, embark on a journey of self-discovery through a thoughtfully curated blend of invigorating Vinyasa flows and soothing Yin Yoga sessions. Engage in meditation, guided relaxation, pranayama (breath work), sound healing, and soulful ceremonies designed to leave you feeling grounded, centered, and profoundly connected.

The retreat is open to all yoga levels and will be held in English (unless ALL participants speak German).

The Program

The program starts on Thursday November 7th at 5.30pm with the first yoga session (arrival from 3.00pm) and ends after lunch on Sunday November 10th at 2.00pm.

Our mornings begin with meditation and yogic breathwork, designed to purify the body both physically and energetically while uplifting our spirits. Following breakfast, we transition into dynamic Vinyasa Yoga sessions, carefully crafted to enhance physical strength, and promote a sense of balance and vitality. We build the sequences step-by-step learning about the alignment that allows the energies in our body to flow freely and release great healing potential.

Experience a variety of beautiful practices: 
1x 90 minute gentle flow yoga and mediation (arrival evening) 
3x 90 minute morning yoga: dynamic flow 
3x 45 minute early morning breathwork + meditation 
2x 90 min afternoon yoga:  gentle flow, yin yoga, yoga nidra, sound bath, journalling

In the dynamic Vinyasa classes we focus on different areas of the body, our energy centers and the aspects of our live they relate to, exploring the connection between the body and the mind. Building the poses and sequences step-by-step we offer open practice that are accessible, interesting and nourishing for all levels.

In the afternoons we indulge in the healing practices of soothing Yin Yoga for deep tissue release and dive deep into guided meditation (Yoga Nidra). Exploring our inner landscapes with reflections and journalling we not only create beautiful moments but also lasting memories and imprints for us to go home inspired and with new input and tools for our every day life.

Surrendering into the healing vibrations of sound, you'll be nourished with a crystal bowl sound bath and mantra singing.

Classes are held in English unless all the participants speak German.

The Place

Nestled amidst the expansive fields and endless forests of the Mecklenburger Schweiz lies Gut Pohnstorf. This picturesque 200-year-old manor exudes charm, surrounded by an impressive 10,000 m² park-like garden, offering boundless opportunities for serene moments of relaxation.

The manor house, exclusively rented for our guests, boasts ample space spanning 1,000 sqm across seven apartments. Each apartment is dedicated to a notable woman who left an indelible mark on society during the 19th century, the era of the manor's construction. Whether you choose to reside with Malwida von Meysenbug, Margarete Steiff, Marie Curie, Bertha Pappenheim, Hedwig Dohm, Clara Schumann, or Louise Otto-Peters, you'll find yourself enveloped in an atmosphere of homey comfort.

The meticulously renovated rooms are adorned with carefully restored furnishings, accentuating the beauty of the surroundings. Each room offers single or double beds, catering to the individual needs of our participants. Furthermore, every apartment is equipped with a kitchen, ensuring convenience and ease during your stay.

The yoga room is equipped with mats and straps, and it's walls are adorned with exquisite artwork by the beloved house painter. Additionally, the elegant dining room, offering a picturesque view of the expansive manor garden, serves as the perfect setting for enjoying nutritious meals together during our breaks.

Nestled amidst sweeping hills and ridges, surrounded by enchanting lakes, Mecklenburger Schweiz, situated in the heart of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, owes its name to its beautiful landscape. At the core of this region lies the natural park "Mecklenburgische Schweiz and Kummerower See," encompassing 10 nature reserve parks and providing sanctuary for a plethora of birds and wildlife. Beyond its stunning flora and fauna, the area is characterized by quaint villages, serene castles, and splendid manor houses, such as Gut Pohnstorf.

The Accommodation

Our participants are accommodated in one of the beautifully renovated and uniquely designed apartments within the manor house. The two to four-room apartments are generously spacious, spanning between 85 and 130 sqm, each equipped with its own kitchen and private bathroom. Similarly, the two one-room apartments offer ample space, with dimensions of either 30 or 60 sqm, catering to friends or couples, and also feature their own kitchen and private bathroom facilities.

Every room within each apartment offers a variety of sleeping arrangements, including single or double beds, allowing for customization according to the preferences of our participants. Please speak to us about your accommodation preferences during booking!

The Food

Our retreat includes vegetarian and vegan cuisine. In November, our focus shifts towards hearty and warming dishes, perfect for combating the cold and damp weather and boosting our immune systems for the winter ahead. You can anticipate wholesome, nourishing, and autumn-inspired cuisine that will not only fuel your body but also complement your yoga practice, providing warmth and comfort to both body and soul. Rest assured, you're in the capable hands of an experienced and highly skilled retreat chef.

How to get there

We are in the middle of nature - that's what makes Gut Pohnstorf so attractive. You can arrive by car or train. We are happy to organize a shuttle from the train station for you. 

By train:
The nearest train stations are Teterow and Malchin. The train station in Langhagen can be reached from Berlin without changing trains, but the journey to Gut Pohnstorf is 15 minutes longer. Please let us know when you arrive and whether you need a transfer.

By car:

Booking and cancellation policy

To reserve your spot you need to pay 50% of the retreat price. The remaining amount can be paid in a second installment if you wish (to be paid until February 2nd).

Cancellation up to 5 weeks before the start of retreat: Cancellation fee 150€ 
Cancellation up to 3 weeks before the start of the retreat: Refund 50% of the price
Cancellation less than 3 weeks before start of the retreat: No refund

If you provide a cover in case you are unable to come, there will be no cancellation fee. 

We highly recommend that you get a cancellation insurance that will reimburse you the full amount in case you get sick and cannot attend the retreat.
